Step 1. Google is your friend. Always, if you don't know something and wanted to know and doesn't know who to ask. Google it up, you might end up to find that there are others like you looking for the same answers. You will be surprised to dig up something somewhere, and might also have a scenario that your question have been answered to the nth time since last year. You will be lucky then, and follow the instructions you will find. I googled it up and found some message boards discussing about unlocking your usb dongle.
Step 2. Ask and it shall be given. Getting help from communities, message boards, blogs. etc. There are a lot of people connected to the internet, and are helpful. All you need to do is ask. Look out for messageboards, that have topics like, unlocking usb dongles.
Step 3. The Waiting Game. People that will help you have other things to do in their lives, so they help when they are not busy. Be Patient.
Step 4. Change your sim on your dongle, and it will ask for unlock codes. Enter the unlock codes you get from asking help on messageboards, then google for the correct apn settings.

Text TIME then send to 1111

To activate Sun Sim for internet use :
Type ACTIVATE then send to 2300
What do you need to do to unlock a usb dongle, SMART, GLOBE, SUN hsdpa modems?
1. IMEI number, you will find this usually along the sticker on your modem or thru the application that comes with it.
2. MODEL, Huwaei e1552 for some, smart have WM66A, others have different models.
3. UNLOCK CODES, you will get this from helpful people in the community by using IMEI number and model. So for those of you that doesn't have the unlock code generator this is the best option, ASK than paying for something that is FREE if you search for your own answers.
4. Change the SIM on your USB dongle then plug it in your computer. It will sense a change in Network due to switching of SIM card.
5. It will ask for a one-time unlock code, here you will be prompted to punch it in.
6. Configure the correct APN settings according to your choice of network. It doesn't matter if your dialer has a logo Globe or Smart even if you are using a different service, it doesnt matter, but you need to make a new profile for each of the SIM/Network you are using. Refer to the APN settings i posted above.
I have managed to get the unlock codes for WM66A smartbro hsdpa modem at pinoyexchange. Thanks and kudos to contributors who keep the world free. Regards to up200527218 for extending his effort to give the unlock codes.
Patience is the key, the world has more helpful people that can provide what you need.

saan po ilagay ang codes? error kasi sa akin, im using the same modem made by longcheer pero pang error po yung code. sa ngayon i still have 9 tries left. pls help
ung unlock codes is dun mo enter sa software ng smartbro. un prang dialer nya. 9? naku bka ma block yan completely. 10 digites po ung required unlock codes ng smartbro compared sa huwaei na 8 digits lang. anu po ung exact model nya?

hello enteng, just got back. will try to help you out, been out of the loop, but last i checked it cost 10 credits equal to 10 euros.

sir shaman how did you manage to unlock the wm66a? the unlock code "up" gave you only has 8 digits. the unlock code for the wm66a has to have 10 digits. thanks.
hello alvin yes 10 digits, but when you get 8 digits only, it will not work. you only have 10 tries to enter the code. so dont bother to guess, there is another software that unlocks that cost 10 credits.
right now your best bet is to wait till the guys who lucky have the code generator to offer it for free. just like with huwaei, before it cost to unlock, lately its free.

so far the current version of dccrap [dc unlocker cracked] is only 1.00.0460 & unfortunately it still has no support for the longcheer wm66A. we need the 1.00.0496 version [hopefully a cracked one at that so we won't have to pay 10 credits]. i have been scouring the net searching for free dc unlocker accounts that have at least 10 credits but so far my search has led me nowhere. wala ako mahanap!!! haha! ^_^
haha, yes. un nga ung prob, dipa supported, ung iba meron na nung supported dc unlocker pra sa wm66a. lalabas at lalabas yan, gnun din dati nung nghihintay ako nung sa huwaei 1550 ng globe tattoo.
ngtatago pa ata or pinagkikitaan pa ng ibang meron na nung pag unlock sa wm66a.
talaga bro yung iba may cracked version na na supported ang wm66A?? sana naman i-share na nila. ilang buwan na kasi nilabas yung modem hanggang ngayon ala parin free unlocker. =)

hello enteng, yes konting tyaga lng sa hintayan. lalabas at lalabas yan. mauunlock mo yan. need lng natin tlga mglabas ung meron na nung tamang version ng dc unlocker na okay na xa di magpabayad.
tagal lumabas ng unlocker. parang gusto ko nalang bumili ng 2nd hand na e1550 kahit ako nalang mag-unlock. hehe. =)

others do swapping. tago mo muna yan wm66a mo. lalabas din later on yan, pag may bago na model na iba, un naman pag didiskitahan ng mga oppurtunista..
more or less nasa 700 pesos. ok e1550 kasi madali ma-unlock. unlike yung mga bagong labas nagyon na e1552 "redbox." na super unlockable. =)

hello alvin, thank you for posting the link, yes it seems he got an updated DC-unlocker, but it's okay to pay 200 pesos for it. Price is reasonable enough than to buy a new modem.

thanks sir. wow special mention pa tuloy ako hehe. oo nga i think lao [the one in the link] has a vygis dongle. the dc-unlocker site mentions that if you have a vygis dongle & the dc-unlocker software detects this, you can unlock the wm66A even with zero credits.
tingin ko sulit na rin yung P200.00. kaysa naman magbayad pa ng 10 euros. =) mukang matatagal pa bago maglabas ng updated version ng cracked dc-unlocker e.

depende din kc sa location kya dapat lng maunlock mga hsdpa modem, so kpag nsa ibang lugar ka na ung isang network malakas signal you can easily switch sim than having two or more modems for each dba?

dapat nga i-ban yung gawing locked sa iisang service provider yung mga electronic devices kasi unfair practice yun. nawawalan ng freedom of choice yung customer to use what he wants & when he wants to do so.
swerte ka na-unlock yung e1552 mo. kung may relative ka na balak pang bumili ng usb modem tell them to avoid the globe e1552's that come in "red boxes". those "redbox" modems cannot be unlocked using any method as of this posting.

yes miko, gagawa ka bago profile sa smartbro software then refer to the apn settings on the article above for the appropriate network.
about sa load packages yes, you will use the smartbro software to send sms to your new network.

bro i suggest pa-unlock mo na. yung cracked version ng dc-unlocker march 2010 pa lumabas at hanggang ngayon ay di pa naa-update. at that rate baka next year pa maglabas ng update na pwedeng mag-unlock ng wm66A.

ayun na unlock nya, 200 pesos daw. mura na yan, ung dati ko sa huwaei 500 pesos hinihingi e, kaso ako naman nghintay ilang months hanggang nakita ako forums na ngooffer ng free unlocks.
kmi e tga suggest lng, pra ung mga iba need mgpaunlock may makita options, tho kung di ka naman ngmamadali you can always wait. =D

guys, I managed to unlock my Sun HSDPA modem made ZTE. I tried using Smart kaso hindi makaconnect, I already configured correctly the dialed number and APN.
sana meron kayo workaround nito.
