Don Henrico's Festival Mall, Alabang Experience

It's been awhile since my last blog post, the shaman have been busy with stuff here and there.

Earlier this evening, I visited Festival Mall in Filinvest Alabang. Meet up with wifey and have dinner. This is not a review but my experience with an ordinary fellow whom I would say enthusiastic and dedicated.

Kudos to the security guard named "Makki," He's the guy wearing long sleeved polo barong looking like PSG (Presidential Security Group) the counterpart for Secret Service for the US. He's the guy incharge of the door welcoming customers, opening door and such.

I prefered eating outside so I can smoke, this guy welcomed me and offered a table inside. I insisted to eat outside otherwise. He gaved me the menu, my wife ordered pizza and a double roast rib. Then beer for me and bottomless iced tea for wifey.



As always the food is great, but because of this guard's hospitality as I watched him do his job. He offers more than guard duty, he welcomes every customer, offering seats and walking them to the table, giving out menu's doing half the waiter's job including the refill for my wife's iced tea, and handing me my second beer. I was like "WOW!" great service indeed, this man deserves a tip.

When we finished our dinner, I signaled him for the bill. He handed it to me with a smile and a thank you. So I handed my payment, when he returned with my change. I said, "Stay here, I have something for you." looked into my pocket and handed him 100 Pesos, he was delighted and thanked me again.

If I am correct, this man is under the payroll of the security agency and not directly by Don Henrico's Payroll, and therefore don't have a share of the service charge the restaurant is charging. But still he did a great job. As I later inspect the bill, I saw a service charge worth 40 Pesos. I was like, 40 pesos for what service?

As we prepared to leave Makki went outside to bid me thank you and farewell, this is the time I asked him about his name and his job well done, I offered my hand for a handshake and I returned my gratitude and thanks.
