The 250 GB Hard Drive (OEM) |
There's no need to remove the keyboard panel, just the backside only.
First is to remove the battery out of the way, then track down the screw holes.
Use your thumb to lightly lift the plastic on either side of the battery bay.
9 screws |
Carefully lift the Plastic Body on the two sides of the battery bay using your thumb. It snaps off, I refrained from using Flat objects to force the lining to come off, trust me it will leave a nasty mark on your lappy.
It gently snaps off, lift it with your thumb on both sides |
Gently take it out first before you can take out the hard disk.
After your done, use the plastic tab located below that is attached to the hard disk to gently pull off the hard disk from its docking bay.
In this case, I replaced the stock 250 GB SATA Hard drive with a new 500 GB SATA Hard drive, now I get more storage capacity.
There you go, 250 GB SATA HDD |
After changing your Hard drive, just follow the "last out, first in rule" and your all set and ready to boot into your newly replaced Hard disk.
It is empty so booting will give you an error, Feel free to install your favorite operating system after this to completely use your lappy. You can do it by USB install or attaching a USB optical drive to install using liveCDs or Installers.
