pork and tofu (tokwa't baboy)
Posted by
Unknown
Tofu is made from soy beans, the ones used in "taho"
I used 3 blocks of standard tofu, a few grams of pork, vinegar, soy sauce, onions and tomatoes. I sliced the tofu blocks into thin slices, and fried it to golden brown, enough to make it crispy. Re-sliced into to smaller pieces, minced tomatoes and onions, add some pre-boiled pork in salt and pork cubes, mixed all ingredients into a serving bowl.
The ratio for vinegar and soy sauce is from 1/2 cup vinegar to 2 tablespoon soy sauce.
Mix all together and sprinkle with some ground pepper, and voila.... ;p

caliraya fun run...
Posted by
Unknown
At 9.30 decided to head for famy, three towns from my location. And set speed for cruising speed. I reached petron famy at around 9.40 - 10.00 am. NOS just arrived there, resting. I bought my first water drink.
Then, we headed for caliraya.
The guys liked to go to caliraya lake from behind, by route of pagsanjan, cavinti to caliraya and back to the highway. So we passed by the caliraya junction and headed for pagsanjan.
In this part of the flock I was located at the middle, in front of me is the spearhead pack and behind me is the sweeper pack. As we are track the twisties of cavinti, I noticed that the guys are separated for 10 to 20 minutes away from each other I found myself at the middle. I decided to go faster to catch up with the spearhead pack, but unconsciously didn’t notice they took a straight ahead way, while I took a right turn, and made a faster pacing. At this point, I was separated from the flock. On my mind I need to go faster to catch up until I noticed, "wait a second, I'm in lusiana already" its way too far from caliraya. So I decided to head back, I was 2 towns away, and took a right turn where I should have taken a straight awhile back.
I’m running at 80-100 kph on straights and cornering 50-80 kph to catch up. I stopped by at Japanese garden. I took a leak and have a smoking break and decided to continue the path. I reached Caliraya Lake at around 11:00 approximately, and got a call from the guys. They said they where at the junction waiting for me at the base of the hill. It's around 7kms away from my location. Then headed there to catch up.
And there I am together with the group again at the junction, rested for awhile and headed back with the group to siniloan or famy for lunch. It’s around lunch time already and my tummy's growling. Here we rested at a convenient lomi house, where we rested and had lunch. We also discussed several issues concerning riders about MMDA's ordinance against our trusty helmets.
I bid goodbye to the gang from there after lunch, and headed back home from sta cruz route. Arrived home around 2.30 pm, I was too tired to even move and think.

adrenaline of speed

I made a record of 17 minutes from south toll way gate in Calamba City to Ayala, Makati City that time. Having to drive, like no fear of dying and car crash. I just love the adrenaline. It was every cager/driver stage, where you are on your first two years of driving, the need for speed. You tend to enjoy every bit of it, I didn't blink nor hesitated. I have my share of near death car crash experiences, no scratches on the car. I was just lucky, but during those crucial time where a wrong move can get me killed. It never gave me fear. I guess, I was young at that time, my reflexes is really good.
A friend from college did a crazy drive in around Marikina and Antipolo area, where because of the traffic on his lane, he transferred to the left most lane, left of the road island(the structure that separates lanes in major roads) where incoming cars full stopped, to avoid collision. If you have seen the movie Ronin (Robert de Niro movie) the car chases there, dodging head-on collisions, he did it long before that movie was made.
On two wheels on the other hand, adrenaline pumps at 140 kph, because it’s easier to die with two wheels. There is a difference between a speeder and a reckless driver/rider. A speeder loves speed, but he is more careful, he speeds in high-speed roads such as SLEX and wide roads. He transfers from lane to lane slowly and smoothly. While the reckless, changes lane abruptly, skipping a lane in between, swerving, tailgates, sometimes doesn’t use signal lights, even bother to look at his side mirrors or rear views.
Accidents are accidents; it’s unintentional, random, and unpredictable. It can happen at any moment without warning, even running at low speed. Its human error, machine error, computer error, nature, environment, and hazards.
A saying from a fellow rider at MCP, "Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly" as I stumbled upon this awhile ago, I shook my head and got me to have this banter on thought. I thanked God; he assigned a guardian angel that can fly faster than me.
Anyway, since I got older than those days. It made me more responsible as a cager/driver and as a rider. Seeing the new generations of youngsters, driving and riding like mad on the road. I just nod, "if they survive long enough, they will get to realize as I did when they get old"
On the side I miss the adrenaline.
No need for plate numbers on helmets, says PNP-TMG

MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Thursday there was no need for motorcycle riders to wear the license plate numbers of their vehicles on their helmets.
Chief Superintendent Errol Pan, the PNP Traffic Management Group (TMG) director and a motorcycle rider, said the new regulation being studied by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) would not make catching motorcycle-riding criminals any easier.
“There’s no need to put the license plate numbers on the helmets. There is already a license plate on the vehicle. This will add confusion to law enforcement and the general public,” Pan told the Philippine Daily Inquirer, parent company of INQUIRER.net.
He said criminals did not usually wear helmets because these could obstruct their vision. Also, the criminals can simply exchange helmets in a bid to elude police, Pan said.
He added that imposing the new helmet regulation would “add a burden” to motorcycle owners.
Instead, Pan said license plates on motorcycles should come with a seal similar to the ones used on electric meters to prevent tampering.
He said a no-nonsense enforcement of traffic laws by the MMDA would be a better alternative.
Pan also boasted that the PNP has been successful in curbing crimes involving motorcycle riders even without the new scheme.
The TMG is usually the first unit to be alerted on criminals because of their mobile deployment around Metro Manila.
On Wednesday, the Motorcycle Philippines Federation opposed the new MMDA measure.
The motorcycle riders threatened to stage a rally along EDSA against any ordinance imposing criminal liability on riders who fail to indicate their license plates on their helmets.
Jojo Medina of the MPF said the new measure was wrong and that police should beef up their crime fighting capability rather than “impose a new hard-line policy.”
But MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando said the new measure was good to go.
He said they would study the MPF’s concern but appealed to the group not to go on with their plan to block EDSA.
